I don't now remember where I heard about it but I just finished reading Some Desperate Glory by Emily Tesh and it blew my socks off. I. may have finished reading it within 24 hours of checking out the ebook, and it is not a short book. I don't even know what to say about it but let me make an attempt. Spoilers but like, vague ones.

(this) and first and foremost I would like to say, holy period-appropriate minced oaths Batman! I love it. So rarely do modern authors have the bravery to let a 1930s guy in the middle of a dead-serious confrontation say, "Lordy, you look fit to be tied!"
